One day, Goat visits his friend Pig. Pig is happy to see Goat at first, but after a while, she starts to get tired. She tries to hint to Goat that it's time for him to go home, but Goat doesn't get the message.
Finally, Pig has to tell Goat directly that she needs some space. Goat is hurt and confused. He doesn't understand why Pig doesn't want him around anymore.
Goat goes home and sulks. He doesn't know what he did wrong. He just wanted to be friends with Pig.
A wise old owl sees Goat sitting on the porch and goes over to talk to him. The owl explains to Goat that everyone needs space sometimes. It's important to respect other people's boundaries and to find your own place in the world.
Goat listens to the owl's words and starts to understand. He realizes that he needs to learn to control his impulses and to be more respectful of others.
Goat goes back to Pig's house and apologizes for his behavior. Pig forgives Goat and invites him to stay for a little while. Goat is happy to be back with his friend, but he knows that he needs to be more mindful of her boundaries.
