Dustin Hoffman is one of the most acclaimed actors of all time. His performances have spanned a wide range of genres, from comedy to drama to musicals. He has won two Academy Awards, three Golden Globes, and a BAFTA Award. In 1999, he received the American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award.

Hoffman was born in Los Angeles, California, on August 8, 1937. He began his acting career in the early 1960s, appearing in small roles in films and television shows. His breakthrough role came in 1967, when he starred as Benjamin Braddock in the Mike Nichols film The Graduate. The film was a huge success, and Hoffman was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor.

Hoffman continued to star in a string of successful films throughout the 1970s, including Midnight Cowboy (1969),Kramer vs. Kramer (1979),and All the President's Men (1976). In 1988, he won his first Academy Award for his performance as Raymond Babbitt in the Barry Levinson film Rain Man. He won his second Academy Award in 1995 for his performance as Andy Garcia in the Sydney Pollack film Tootsie.

Hoffman has also had a successful career on stage. In 1984, he starred as Willy Loman in the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman. He won a Tony Award for his performance. In 2012, he starred in the Broadway premiere of the John Logan play Red. He was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance.

Dustin Hoffman is one of the most versatile and talented actors of his generation. He has starred in a wide range of films and television shows, and he has won numerous awards for his work. He is a true American icon.
