In this guide, I'll show you how to apply page curls to your photos using Photoshop Elements. I'll cover everything from the basics to more advanced techniques, so whether you're a beginner or an experienced user, you'll be able to follow along and learn how to create beautiful page curls.
Before You Start
Before you start, you'll need to make sure that you have the following:
- A copy of Photoshop Elements
- A photo to edit
Step 1: Open Your Photo in Photoshop Elements
To open your photo in Photoshop Elements, go to File > Open and select the photo you want to edit. Once the photo is open, you can start adding page curls.
Step 2: Create a New Layer
The first step to adding page curls is to create a new layer. This will allow you to work on the page curls without affecting the original photo. To create a new layer, go to Layer > New > Layer.
Step 3: Select the Page Curl Tool
Once you have created a new layer, you can select the Page Curl Tool. The Page Curl Tool is located in the Toolbar on the left side of the screen. It looks like a piece of paper with a curled edge.
Step 4: Set the Page Curl Options
Before you start curling the page, you need to set the Page Curl Options. These options allow you to control the size, shape, and direction of the page curl.
To set the Page Curl Options, click on the Page Curl Tool and then go to the Options Bar at the top of the screen. In the Options Bar, you can adjust the following settings:
- Curl Amount: This setting controls the amount of curl applied to the page.
- Curl Radius: This setting controls the radius of the curl.
- Curl Direction: This setting controls the direction of the curl.
Step 5: Apply the Page Curl
Once you have set the Page Curl Options, you can apply the page curl to the image. To apply the page curl, click on the photo and drag the mouse in the direction you want the page to curl.
As you drag the mouse, you will see the page curl being applied to the image. You can continue dragging the mouse until you are satisfied with the results.
Step 6: Adjust the Page Curl
Once you have applied the page curl, you can adjust it to fine-tune the look. To adjust the page curl, select the Page Curl Tool and then click on the page curl. This will bring up the Free Transform handles.
Using the Free Transform handles, you can adjust the size, shape, and position of the page curl. You can also rotate the page curl or flip it horizontally or vertically.
Step 7: Save Your Work
Once you are satisfied with the results, you can save your work. To save your work, go to File > Save As and select a location to save the file.
Tips and Tricks
- To create a more realistic page curl, use a photo with a high resolution.
- The larger the Curl Radius, the more gradual the curl will be.
- You can use the Page Curl Tool to create multiple page curls.
- To create a more dynamic look, try curling the page in different directions.

With a little practice, you can create realistic and eye-catching page curls that will add depth and interest to your images.
